Can I use Rentsoft if my landlord/managers is not registered with Rentsoft?
Yes. You can pay your rent via Rentsoft even if your manager or landlord is not registered with Rentsoft. Simply sign up, login and choose “Add my House”. You will register your house by entering house name, the bank account to which you always pay rent, and your manager’s/landlord’s/agent’s mobile number. You can then pay rent via Rentsoft- in full or bit by bit!.
Can I use Rentsoft to pay rent for multiple houses?
Yes. Rentsoft allows you to add up to five houses. Once you have added the first house, swipe the top tile(upper section of the app with current house details) to the left and you will see the button to add a new house.
How does Pay Rent As You Earn/ Lipa Rent Pole Pole work?
Pay Rent As Your Earn (also known as Lipa Rent Pole Pole) is a rent payment model that allows tenants to pay rent in small, flexible amounts—starting from as little as 10 KES.For example, if your monthly rent is 5,000 KES, you can start paying next month's rent early by adding small amounts—like 50 KES at a time—into your Flex Rent (Lipa Rent Pole Pole) account. Over time, these small payments add up. When the payments reach 5,000 KES, Rentsoft system automatically triggers full remittance to landlord.Tenant can also choose a date when they'd like their full rent amount to be sent to your landlord instead of instant remittence.

Am a landlord, how do I get started?
Create a manager account with your details, including bank account info.Log in and add apartments via CSV. The system will generate house IDs for each unit, which you can share with tenants. Each house ID generated from landlord dashboard is linked to the landlord's bank details.
How are rent payments settled?
Payments are processed automatically and settled directly into manager/landlord bank account by KCB bank. When tenants pay from the app, the funds are instantly transferred to the bank account linked to the house.
Is Rentsoft free for managers/landlords?
Yes! Rentsoft has no setup fees, no monthly charges, and no transaction fees.
How many apartments or units can I manage with Rentsoft?
Unlimited. Rentsoft is designed to simplify the task of managing multiple units. For this reason, it allows bulk upload of units using excel sheets. The task of adding tenants is eliminated, further simplifying the process. Tenants onboard themselves once they are provided with the house ID. House IDs do not change. So, managers can stick them within the house for use by incoming tenants.
I already have a management system and don't want to migrate
No problem. Rentsoft can work alongside your existing system. Using Rentsoft API, your developer can integrate Rentsoft with your current system so that payments made via Rentsoft app reflect in your custom rent collection system.
How do I use Rentsoft API?
Go to your manager dashboard, under account and settings, navigate to API. You only need to register a callback url. All payments made to your Rentsoft account will be sent to the url in Json format. Payment data sent via API include house number, tenant names, tenant phone number, tenant arrears, amount etc. Developer documentation is available on the manager dashboard.
What are rent coupons, and why should I give tenants rent discounts?
Just like any other business, you need coupons to drive sales, in this case rent payments. Giving tenants expiring coupons will encourage them to pay their rent before the coupon expires, thus reducing your days in accounts receivable. Only Rentsoft enables you to do that.
What is manager commission and how does it work?
Manager commissions are for managers/agents who take a percentage of rent payments from the houses they manage. Upon agreement with the landlord, managers on Rentsoft can earn their commissions every time tenants make payments. A percentage agreed upon by the manager and landlord will be deducted from the rent paid and credited to manager’s digital wallet. Managers can then link a secondary bank account and withdraw their earnings from the dashboard.
